March Madness

Babies are growing so fast -- they seem huge right now. Tanner weighed in at 31 pounds the other day. They seem to be heavier after every meal. I have been taking them to the Life Fitness Center Nursery so I can work out. I'm starting to feel better and lose weight (Finally!) and they seem to be getting used to the idea of going. They have a play gym afterwards that has vaccuum cleaners and they love those things. We vacuum at home about 3 times a day. They just really love it. Chase is a little more verbal - he has the "all done" thing down after meals, and he says his version of "kitty", "Sydney", "Baka", "dada" and "Bennett". Its pretty cool to understand them. Syd is writing some excellent stories and is entering one into a contest and might take a summer writing class. She is starting softball and soccer starts soon as well. Bennett got a hattrick playing indoor on his new team today. What a difference playing at his level on a team of kids that like him makes! Eesh. We have an end of season hockey party today -- so glad that is over and Kurt is taking SamBone to a dog party. We are going to Ducks Unlimited tonight. Kelli is watching the babies and big kids go with us. Bennett loved it last year.

Getting Caught Up?

I can see wood on the desk and I feel like I've caught up on a bunch of things over the last few weeks. Yippee! Its a good feeling to get things off my plate. Christmas cards went out with a good picture and I got the letter posted on the website which was read by a few people. That's a good feeling. I got to go to a few Christmas parties - Shannon's, which was pretty tame this year and Anna/Beth's mother/daughter ornament exchange with Sydney. Sydney is playing basketball on a really good team and looks good. She is tenacious D. Bennett has this week off from hockey, which is a nice break after Waterloo/Des Moines last weekend. I took him on that trip and got 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep and ran 5 miles at Waterloo. It felt like a vacation even though it was freakin' cold. Christmas shopping is fairly well done, just a few more things. Chase is 90% walking, but Tanner still prefers crawling and being held. Chase is a champ sleeper, but T still wakes up a few times a night -- he needs to go in his crib, but I hate to hear him cry -- its a bummer. They are good babies!!

Feeling refreshed!

The babies slept very well last night and I was somewhat productive yesterday with 2 website designs, so I'm feeling pretty good right now. I even made it out for a beer with Sue last night during hockey practice and I got to watch most of Bennett's ice time. Stellar!

The babies are at my feet busily taking things out of cabinets and slinging them across the floor. They are busy. We got new toys from Dawn last night that will keep us busy today.

They have the sign for "bottle" and "all done" - Chase will say "ah dah" while he is doing it. They wave their hand for "round and round", which is the ceiling fan - Maril taught them that one. Their favorite thing is still the cuckoo clock (another one from Maril) - Tanner will "tick Tock", probably noted as his first words. They love to go in Sydney's room and look around. Bennett's is a favorite too,b ut we don't get down there too often. THey like to play with the balls in the hockey room and love to be down there when the big kids are playing.

All right - my time is up --

Times Flies

Its almost 3 months since my last post -- I need to be more regular with this or too much time will pass! The babies turned 1 a few weeks ago and I can't believe how fast the first year went by. In addition to that, Bennett turned 10 and Sydney turned 8 and that is totally mind-blowing as well. Life is good! Busy, with not enough sleep, but good!

September 3, 2007

The babies are both sleeping and I should be cleaning my desk, but everytime I look at the computer and see the emails and t0-do lists - they seem to take over and before I know it, the babies are awake! ARGH! I'll get it done tonight after they go to bed, I think, but I'm so exhausted by the end of the day, that is almost impossible. Sleep! I need to schedule a nap into my week and make no excuses to cancel it.
